    One off the cuff and kinda cynical guess I could make would be that Apple has a monopoly on Airdrop which further reinforces the everything-works-better-in-the-ecosystem thing they seem keen to defend.

    Last time I checked it was a decent bit more convoluted to quickly wirelessly send files back and forth from a PC to an iPhone whereas it’s real easy with a Mac.

      Not only Airdrop but iCloud subscriptions. When backing up/sharing large photo libraries using iCloud is faster and easier than to a computer, then they’re going to sell a lot more iCloud storage subscriptions.

        Sucks iCloud is so garbage for anything professional. If I could just use that for my freelance work it’d be great but it’s just complete trash compared to Dropbox for stuff like file handoff and versioning and selective sync and all that kinda stuff.
